Don't Forget

My mom teachers 2nd or 3rd grade and she was telling me that the kids in her class don't even know what 9 / 11 means. That just blows my mind, but it is true. It is weird to think how something that has change everything we do is now history to the Very Young Americans. I sure my own daughter doesn't know what today is. I know that 9 / 11 is something that we all can remember so well but it is weird that one day some kids (my own daughter included) will read about what happened on 9 / 11 in a history book the same way I read about Peal Harbor.

God Bless

You'd be suprised at how much Sarah Jane knows... it's pretty shocking. She told me all about it today at Lunch. She knows that in 2001 2 planes flew into buildings and lots of people died... she told me how brave the New York City firemen and police officers were and that she was glad that she lived in the United States. When I asked her how she knew all of that, she said that her teacher has been telling them about it all week. We went to the fire station this morning with her class to take lunch the the Firemen here in Greenville. I will post pictures soon, and I think that we are going to run some of them in the paper... I'll send you the link when they go up in The Greenville Advocate.

But you're right, something is so real and current in our minds and the minds of our generation will be history to Sarah Jane's and those to follow. It's a weird thought.

I'm very impressed. After reading those first two lines I thought that her teacher must have been talking about it all week. Also the kids at Sarah Jane school are a little different than the one here.

True Sarah Jane knows about the story but she doesn't know what they day felt like. For something like 9/11 to be still so real & still be a history story at the same time is strange.

Yeah, I totally agree with you, I was thinking that this morning as she was going through the story. We sure do have a smart little one.

I posted pictures of the morning, feel free to steal them if you want to. :)
