I run with the Albany Run Walk Group on the weekends. We are training for Spring Marathons using Jeff Galloway's run/walk method. We have all different levels of pace groups. There are groups for walkers to up to the really fast group. To find out what group you should run with we do what we call a Magic Mile. It is one mile as hard as you can go. Then based on you one mile split you are put in a group that runs around the same speed.
Today we did a two mile warm up, a Magic Mile, and then a two mile warm up. My mile time was 6:38. This was not my best mile time. Early this season I've done a 6:28 and my all time best was 5:58. I feel like I'm in better over all shape but right now I'm not as fast as I was last year. I plan to change that. I feel that the reason that I'm running slow for me is that I haven't been out running as much I as last year.
