Week 51

My coach said, "9.5 hours last week. Nice job! What was your overall impression of the week? How are you feeling?"

Here is what I said.

Overall impression, ... Proud. Here is why.

  • I was at work for 50 hours.

  • I spent almost every night that I was at home with my family. One night was my daughter's birthday, one night we went bowling, one night we went shopping, one night we just had a family game night. (And I loved every minute of it)

  • Finished all of my Christmas shopping. And all of my presents that I bought are wrapped and under the Christmas tree.

I wished that I could have gotten close to the 13 hour mark on training but I had a lot on my plate. I'm trying to be a well round triathlete. I try not to forget about helping around the house and spending time the the ones that will cheer me on, on race day.

Today I'm just a little sore but nothing major. I went to bed last night at 9 and got up at 8:00. I wanted to workout this morning but I was too tired to hear the alarm clock. I've been trying to go to bed when my daughter goes to bed so I can train before anybody wakes up. It work very good for me last week.

This week I'm going to have to get creative to get any kind of training in. I think I can get 5 - 6 hours for sure. After that it will be all bonus training. The reason for that is work schedule, Christmas eve & day, and family coming into town.

Here is what I did last week.

Swam - 2500 yards (only did one workout)

Biked - 65 miles in just over 4 hours

Ran - 26.4 miles in just under 4.5 hours

Total Time for the week 9 hours & 27 minutes.
