Mile 3 through 6 take you back towards Downtown Albany. Near mile four you will cross over the Flint River and run the Albany Arch. Just on the other side of the bridge you will find lots of spectators cheering you on and a water stop.

Also the Downtown area is also hosting the fifth annual Region’s Bike Race. The time trial criteriums start at 8 am, in front of the city/county office building on Pine, just one block from the Mardi Gras festivities. The last leg of the marathon route will allow an up-close look at cyclist competing in a fast-paced criterion.
Just a reminder if you are planing on signing up for the Albany Marathon the price goes up on December 31.
