Right now I am training to run the Albany Marathon in 2011. I've started my training with my running group Albany Run/Walk. In the past I've just ran with the group but this year I Program Director for The Jeff Galloway Training Group here in Albany, Ga. It is a lot of fun but a lot of work to manager a group of 100+ members. I am finding that I have less time to train because I spend my discretionary working on the new website for ARW, email group leaders, sending our eNewletters, and planing group runs. Next week's group run will be especially good because...
... we will be doing a Scavenger Run.
The Scavenger Run is one of my favorite runs because you are trying to solve clues as a group. There are six different pace groups and they will all have a sheet with the same clues on them. The group will have to figure out what the clue is run to that building or landmark and then take a picture of the group with the object in the background. The first group to finish with all the pictures in the correct order wins. Here is a post from when I did a scavenger run last year.
My training has been going go so far. I've been using a version Jeff Galloway's training plan. I am doing one long run with the group right now and two short 30 minutes runs during the week. I love the plan because it is made for someone that is super busy but can still run a marathon injury free. I got in both two 30 minute runs in during the week and I ran 4 miles with the group today. I don't know if I can count Church League Softball as training or not. I've been playing two games on Monday Nights and I'm pretty sore afterwards. Maybe I can count it as a speed workout? Because I sprint running around the bases and I sprint to catch a fly ball.
Checking In - My 9-5
I've also been busy at the Chicken Shack. I feel like I just got done training a manager and now on Monday I will start training a new manager. I like training and I feel that I'm good at teaching/training. As it turns out Zaxby's is changing the way that they do their training. I will be one of 6 guys that will go up to corporate at the end of the month to test out a new training system for Zaxby's. It should be pretty cool to see what they have in store.
Checking In - Click Photography
Click Photography has been extremely busy. We were just up in Nashville, TN last weekend shooting a wedding. This week we had an engagement, a newborn shoot at the hospital, and a family shoot for a solider who is getting deployed soon. Click is working on a special right now for the fall. I will post details later.
Also keep "Checking In" here ar the blog. I hope to do a giveaway soon.
