Last week was a long week for me in may ways. The highlights were a brick that was 44 miles and a 20 mile run. Not to mention my little girl turned 4.
The weather got up to 80 and I tried to take advantage of it the best way I knew how - A long bike ride. Up until last week I had never ridden over 30 miles on my bike. So, with the half iron man coming up I though now would be a good time to try a long ride.
Last Tuesday I did a hill work out early that morning running about 4 miles. When home, ate, and got Sarah Jane off to school. Afterwards I got my bike ready to do a 40 mile ride with a 4 mile run afterwards.
It seemed like it would be easy on paper. However nothing is. I road up to Leesburg and got about 4 miles shy of Dawson, Ga when I had to turn and head back. The first 30 miles were great. The last 10 not so much. It was cool when I started and now it had gotten hot on the road. I couldn't see straight and was ready to get off.
I got home and took my time before the run. Drank a lot of water and ate some bars. I was able to get in the 4 miles. I did a 3 minute run & 1 minute walk. The whole thing took me about 3 & /2 hours to complete. All in all I was proud of the work.
Saturday - I finished my 2nd 20 mile run. This is the farthest I've ever ran. The first time I did a 20 mile run was last August and I as ready as I was on last Saturday. The run made me tired, but I was able to do a swim workout the next day. Thank God for the Galloway Method.
Later that Saturday Sarah Jane had her birthday party at the YMCA. It was a pool party. I am still wondering if I should count swimming with her as a recovery swim workout. I'm still working on the video of her party and will have it up soon.

What is a "pull" party... Did you mean pool party? :-)
Yes, 'Pool Party'. Is that better?
Thanks
