Hit The Road Jack

This Weekend I Hit The Road Jack!

I took Friday off as my usual rest day and it was need because of the longer workouts.

Saturday our Running Group was going to meet down by the river front. However I got an email saying that there would be some folks getting there early for a extra 5 mile run. We ran a total of 10 miles.

It was a beautiful run right by the river. The city of Albany spent some good money putting in about 2.5 miles of paved running/walking path. I can't tell you how nice it was to not smell car fumes.

We finished our second 5 mile out and back and walk down to the park to check out the new monument. The city is really trying to make the down town area nice. I didn't know but the night before was the unavailing of the new monument of Ray Charles an Albany native. The statue is up on a waterfall an it spins around and the are speakers set up that play his music. This defiantly adds some culture to the down town.

When the rest of our groups got done we all went and eat breakfast. It was a nice to hang out with all the Albany Run Walkers.

Later that day I sent an e-mail out to see if anybody wanted to go for a bike ride on Sunday. Four of us showed & we went out for a 26 an half mile ride the Lee County. You have to take advantage of being able to go out an ride in the middle of December.

Monday Night I squeezed in a swim before my class. Finish my first 3,000 set in a long time.
I got to use my new swim paddles which was very cool. Also for anybody who leaves inland an wants some kinda of open water swim at the gym. I recommend starting you workout just before the water aerobic class. Just keep you head down and swim.
