Pushin' Sarah Jane On The Swings

I don't know how many times Sarah Jane has asked me to push her on the swings but I do know that I won't get many more chances to do just that. Not only because I have a fraction of the time with her that I use to have but soon she won't need me to help push her at all because she will be able to all by her self. She is getting bigger, smarter, and cuter everyday. I call her my big girl because it makes her feel good about her self, but the fact is, she is becoming a big girl. So I'm trying to enjoy each moment as much as I can. As she continues to grow up she will still need me to help her do other things but soon swinging on the playground will not be on the list.

This made me cry. It's so true... our little girl isn't so little anymore. When did this happen? How do we make it stop?

why would you want to make it stop? i want her to be independent. that's why i teach her how to pump her feet when she swings so she can do it by her self. she will still need me but the trick is to be ready to help her with the next thing.

but no matter what,
she will always be my 'little' girl

I see your point and I want her to be independent as well(you know that).. but there is always going to be a part of me that longs for that sweet little girl that we brought home from the hospital four and a half years ago. I'm just saying that sometimes I want to freeze time. It's not that I am not looking forward to all the milestones that lie ahead, because I am, I just don't want these times to pass too quickly. Either way, good post. I enjoy your blog.
