One Week Till Disney

My Race Plan for the Disney Marathon is pretty simple - Relax, Enjoy the Day, & Breath. I'm not looking for any PR just relax and take it all in.

I was talking with my coach about the race. There will be a lot of what ifs

  1. I told him that I don't know what time I'll be able to get to bed the night before the race. So if I'm getting up around 3:30 to 4:00 A.M. I wont get much rest.

  2. I don't know what I will eat the day before the race or where I'll eat or even when I'll eat. I'm just going to go with the flow and eat when hungry.

  3. Who knows how much walking & standing I'll be doing the days before the race. I'm sure I'll be wore out from walking around the park.

So I will just go out and see what happens. The Disney Marathon will be more of a test run. It will be like I'm auditing the marathon. My coach said that, "If I feel strong and my joints end up hurting, I'm probably need more mileage to toughen up. If I feel weak, then we look at nutrition."

I was talking my wife that we need to not plan out the whole weekend. We deiced are going make sure that we do the Marathon and Sarah Jane gets to have breakfast with the Princess. After that we are just going to go with the flow. We will ride the ride that is in front of us and not worry about trying to do too much.

That's kinda how I want to run the marathon. Run the mile that is in front of me. I want the Disney Marathon to be a Fun Run. And watch I'll probably get a really good time because I'm not going to put any add pressure on myself. (I mean 26.2 miles is enough pressure as it is)

Here is a map of the course. You may have to click on it to make it bigger. But this is where I'll be running next Sunday!

My Race Number is 7883

I will be in Chute "B"

I will be running the Red Route for the first four miles.
