Nut Roll 2009

Last Saturday I rode in the Nut Roll with 299 other riders. I did the 104 mile loop and had an average speed of 16.3 mph. The first 60 miles I felt good. The last 40 were tuff. The weather was nice because it wasn't too hot but we did have a head wind coming back. This was my first century ride. I now have a new definition of what is a long ride. Surprisingly I'm not as sore as I thought I would be. Here are some pictures of me from the ride.

sounds like quite the intense ride, especially to a not-so-much biker like myself. anything over 30 miles seems intense to me though, so 104 is awesome. great pics!

Well done man! I knew you had it in you. Got a little more confidence about killing the next race?

Random question. Did you ever get fit on the new bike? You look really stretched out. Not saying it is wrong, just curious. Different things work for different people. If that works for you, stick with it.

thanks guys!

Jamie - yes I have been fitted for the bike. And it feels good on rides that are less than two hours because anything longer than that my neck and back will get sore. I don't know if that is because I’m not use to being the aero position or if it is the bike fitting? Right now I feel like it because I’m just not use to be bent over for that long.
