The Power of the Group

This morning I got up and ran 9 miles with my running club, Albany Run Walk. I love running with Albany Run Walk because everyone there is so encouraging. I think everyone came up to me and asked me how I did at Augusta. One of the guys that congratulated me was my pace group leader, Chuck. Chuck came up to me and gave me these socks for finishing the race.

Chuck is one of the nicest guys I know. He helped my train and finish my first marathon. I thought it was so cool that he gave me a pair of socks that said 70.3 on them.

Every year I think why am I paying to join a running club. I don’t need a club or a group to help me train because I already know how to achieve my running goals. But the one thing a running group has is people there to cheer you on and hold you accountable to your goals. It is days like today where we have a great 9 mile run among friends that make it all worth wild.

Life is Good

running groups are the best! it's too hard to run solo day after day, well in my opinion anyway.

very cool socks, what an awesome runner-friend!
