Magic Mile

Last Saturday my running group Albany Run/Walk ran 4 miles with a Magic Mile in the middle.  A Magic Mile is a one mile for time.  We use this mile time trial to place runners into the different pace groups.  Albany Run/Walk has six different pace groups based on the Magic Mile Times.  Basically we take the Magic Mile time add a few minutes to it to get the group training pace.  Each group will run as slow as the slowest runner in the group.  We do a Magic Mile about once per month.  I always love the weeks that we do the magic mile.  For me it is like a little test to see how I am improving throughout my training.  Here is a video of Albany Run/Walk at the Magic Mile Run last Saturday.  Enjoy!
