New Kicks

Here is my old shoes.

It’s time for a new pair of shoes. This weekend will be the last race that I will run in my current shoes. I’ve enjoyed these shoes a lot. This is the second pair of the exact same shoe.

Including the 5K on Saturday I would have run 287.5 miles in them. I bought them on 01/09/08 for $85 and the cost of the shoe per mile is down to $0.30.

Here is a list of the race that I ran in with these shoes.

Self Supported Half Ironman -13.1 miles – 2:26:25
My 1st Marathon – Albany Marathon – 4:45:05
Sprint Tri – Tri @ The Y – 5K – 21:44
Rock – N – Roll Man Half Ironman – 13.1 miles – 2:44
Loop The Lake – 5K - ???

The shoes are starting to give me blisters and they are not giving my ankle the support it needs. I’ve almost lost 2 toe nails in these shoes.

This pair will join the other retired shoes that I wear to church or in the yard.

Here is a pic of my new shoes.

Your right they do look the same. But they are two total differnt shoes.

My old ones were racing flats. That weight 7.60 oz. My new shoes are still motion control but have more support. They weigh 14 oz. I got these because they were on sale and would hold up longer while I trained for my ironman.

I'm not wearing the new shoes at the 5K beacuse I don't want that extra 6.4 oz.

Ah, I get it... that 6.4 oz. is SO important :)

You would rather have that in water weight? Hey... at least at this 5k you won't have SJ all in Blankets so your time should be a little better :)

I hope you guys have fun. Let me know how it turns out.
